Abstract

A dynamic high-voltage submarine cable comprises at least one cable core comprising an electrical conductor and an electrically insulating layer (4) radially surrounding outside of the electrical conductor (3), and a water barrier radially surrounding outside of the cable core (2). The water barrier comprises a corrugated metal tube (10) having an inner diameter (20) larger than 90mm and a corrugation pitch (p) in a range of 4 - 12 mm, characterized in that the metal tube has a wall thickness (T) in a range of 0.1 - 1,2 mm and a corrugation depth (d) of more than 5 mm.
