Abstract

A solid-state circuit breaker (100) includes an electronic switch (170); a mechanical switch (110) configured to complete a turn-on process and a turn-off process by manual operation; and a sensor (120, 130, 140) configured to generate a trigger signal depending on a position of the mechanical switch (110) during at least one of the turn-on process or the turn-off process. A control unit (150) is configured to activate a boosting mechanism (160) according to the trigger signal. The boosting mechanism (160) is configured to provide a boost for the turn-on process or the turn-off process. The electronic switch (170) is connected in series with the mechanical switch (110).
