Abstract

A contact system and an electromagnetic contactor are provided, where the contact system comprises a movable contact that moves along a closing direction and a pair of stationary contacts disposed facing each other along a longitudinal direction transverse to the closing direction. Each of the stationary contacts has a C-shaped body with a first leg and a second leg oriented towards a center of the contact system and spaced apart along the closing direction. The movable contact has a first movable contact section disposed between the first and the second legs of the first stationary contact and a second movable contact section disposed between the first and the second legs of the second stationary contact. The first and the second stationary contacts each comprise a terminal section extending from the respective second leg towards a direction that forms a non-zero angle with the longitudinal direction.
