Abstract
The present invention relates to a positive electrode having a positive electrode composite layer, including a single particle-type positive electrode active material and a conductive material including a plate-like carbon material, disposed on a current collector, and having a packing index PI of 0.1 to 3.6, where the PI is derived from factors including a volume cumulative average particle size D<sub>50</sub> of the single particle-type positive electrode active material, a crystallite size L<sub>c</sub> in a c-axis direction of the plate-like carbon material, and a specific surface area S<sub>c</sub> of the plate-like carbon material, and the positive electrode exhibits high rolling density without damage to the positive electrode active material and may thus provide a lithium secondary battery having excellent energy density.
