Abstract

The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery including a positive electrode; a negative electrode facing the positive electrode; a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and a non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein the positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material, the positive electrode active material includes a lithium nickel-based oxide particle represented by Formula A, the lithium nickel-based oxide particle is in a form of a single particle composed of one single nodule or a pseudo-single particle that is a composite of 30 or less nodules, and the non-aqueous electrolyte includes a lithium salt, an organic solvent, and an additive, wherein the additive includes a cyclic borate-based compound represented by Formula 1 and a compound containing a propargyl group. [Formula A] Li<sub>a</sub>Ni<sub>b</sub>Co<sub>c</sub>Mn<sub>d</sub>M<sup>1</sup><sub>e</sub>O<sub>2</sub>In Formula A, M<sup>1</sup> is at least one selected from the group consisting of Ti, Mg, Al, Zr, Y, Ba, Ca, Sr, W, Ta, Nb, and Mo, and 0.8≤a≤1.2, 0.5≤b<0.7, 0<c<0.2, 0<d≤0.4, 0≤e≤0.2, and b+c+d+e=1.
