Abstract
The inverter (32) comprises pairs (5, 6; 7, 8) of switches arranged in series on electrical lines (4a, 4b) connecting electrical potentials (2, 3) to a phase line (9) to be supplied by a current formed by incessant switching of the switches. The switches in the pair are redundant to prevent damage caused by a short-circuit in one of the switches, while the other continues to open the line (4), maintaining normal operation. Failure of one switch is detected by a detection circuit while supplying switches of each pair with time offsets.
