Abstract

Disclosed in the embodiments of the present disclosure are an information processing method and apparatus. First information is determined, wherein the first information is used for determining a correspondence between a first threshold and the number of physical random access channel (PRACH) transmissions, there is one or more first thresholds, and each first threshold corresponds to one number of PRACH transmissions; and the number of PRACH transmissions of a terminal is determined on the basis of a first measurement result and the first information, wherein the first measurement result is obtained by means of performing measurement on a first signal sent by a network device. Therefore, terminals having different power classes or terminals of different types can use appropriate transmission powers when performing multiple PRACH transmissions, and can determine appropriate numbers of PRACH transmissions. Thus, the waste of PRACH resources can be effectively avoided, spectrum resources are saved on, and the communication efficiency of the system is improved.
