Abstract

Attachment of a biopsy needle guiding adapter to an ultrasound probe can be easily performed outside an abdominal cavity, and an attachment state of the biopsy needle guiding adapter in the abdominal cavity can be easily checked. Alternatively, smooth insertion and removal of the ultrasound probe from a guide tube passing through an abdominal wall can be performed. A puncture adapter is attachably and detachably mounted on a head part of a probe outside an abdominal cavity. The puncture adapter has a body part that covers a through-hole guiding a biopsy needle, an insertion part that is inserted into the through-hole, and a needle guide hole that communicates with the body part and the insertion part and that guides the biopsy needle inserted from a needle entrance portion in the body part to a needle entrance portion in the insertion part.
