Abstract

The invention regards a device for sealing a defect (9) in the tissue of an internal organ of a patient, having a scaffold comprising longitudinal elastic supports (1) in a radial arrangement similar to an inverted umbrella structure. The invention is characterized in that the device comprises a delivery guidewire (3) and a controlling guidewire (4), wherein the supports (1) are loops which are connected at their distal ends to the delivery guidewire (3) and at their proximal ends to the controlling guidewire (4), and have a peak inflection point, and at the outer surface of the supports (1) an elastic membrane (2) is stretched in the shape of an inverted umbrella cap.
