Abstract

It is possible to further reduce a risk of fracture of the blank portion while maintaining an appropriate adhesive strength between the blank portion and the holding portion. A mill blank assembly (10) includes a blank portion (20), a holding portion (30) that is configured to hold the blank portion (20), and an adhesive layer (40). The adhesive layer (40) is disposed between a first adhesion surface (21) and a second adhesion surface (33), which are respective adhesion surfaces of the blank portion (20) and the holding portion (30). The adhesive layer (40) bonds the blank portion (20) and the holding portion (30) together. The second adhesion surface (33) of the holding portion (30) includes an uneven structure (36) comprising a projection portion (34) and a recess portion (35), and the projection portion (34) and the recess portion (35) are configured not to mate with each other.
