Abstract

An anti-slip cover (110) for example for a therapeutic cushion (100) of a wheelchair is provided. The cover comprises: a base layer (122) configured to cover the therapeutic cushion, the base layer having directional stretching properties is possibly made of a two-way or four-way stretch material. The cover further comprises a layer of flexible anti-slip material (120). This anti-slip material may comprise a substrate such as a silicone or urethane put on the fabric typically by, but not limited to, a silk screen process. The anti-slip material is affixed over the base layer and is forming patterns (420, 520, 620, 720, 820, 920, 1120) allowing increased stretchability configured to retain the buttocks of a user in a proper therapeutic position. The pattern comprises: a low friction area (116) positioned to receive ischium/sacrum of the user; an area (117) positioned to receive gluteal portion of the user, the gluteal area having a friction coefficient higher than a friction coefficient of the ischium/sacrum area; and an area (118) to receive the thigh portion of the user having a friction coefficient higher than the friction coefficient of the ischium/sacrum area.
