Abstract

The present invention has as its technical problem to suppress cracks and other failure at the time of press-forming an integrated blank formed by partially overlapping a plurality of partial blanks and has as its object the provision of such a blank (integrated blank). The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a blank for press-forming comprised of a plurality of partial blanks made of steel sheets joined into one piece, the blank for press-forming having an overlap section configured by at least two partial blanks partially overlaid, the method finding the material inflow amounts of the partial blanks (movement vectors of points on partial blanks) due to press-forming in advance at the overlap section and joining the partial blanks forming the overlap section at only a section with an absolute value of difference of inflows (movement vectors) smaller than a predetermined limit value so as to produce a blank for press-forming, hot press-forming the blank, then joining the other parts of the overlap section to obtain a desired press-formed part.
