Abstract

A detection method has: a measuring step that measures expression levels of plural nucleic acid molecules contained in each of plural specimens; an evaluating step that, by using an evaluation algorithm that evaluates properties of the specimens based on expression levels of nucleic acid molecules, evaluates properties of each of the plural specimens based on the expression levels of the nucleic acid molecules that were measured in the measuring step, and determines evaluation values; and a detecting step that assigns ranks to the evaluation values of the plural specimens with respect to high/low levels, and, based on correlation between the ranks and the evaluation values of the plural specimens, detects an abnormality that has arisen in processes up to determination of the evaluation values.
