Abstract

An apparatus (100) is provided for making nonwoven fabric including at least one plant for making nonwoven fabric developing along a main axis (1a) and a main plane (1b) and configured to dispense via an outlet (10a) a plurality of either polymeric or cellulose or viscose filaments along and parallel to one or more dispensing directions (4a) transverse to the main plane (1b) forming from the outlet (10a) a layer of filaments along or parallel to a dispensing plane (100a) transverse to the main axis (1a) and the main plane (1a); and a conveying station (12) downstream of the outlet (10a) and including at least calendering means (13) spaced from the outlet (10a) by a collection distance of between 0 m and 5 m; wherein the conveying station (12) lacks a belt or mat collection surface placed upstream of the calendering means (13) in such a way that the layer is directly calendered into the calendering means (13) without being previously deposited on a the belt or mat collection surface.
