Abstract

A gas turbine engine (10) including a compressor section (12), a combustion section (14), and a turbine section (16) in a serial flow arrangement, with the combustion section (14) having a fuel nozzle (48, 104, 204, 304, 404, 504, 604) including a fuel nozzle body (38, 112, 212, 312, 412, 512, 612) defining an axis (114, 214, 314, 414, 514, 614) and having an inner surface (115, 215, 315, 415, 515, 615) defining a channel (116, 216, 316, 416, 516, 616) fluidly coupled to a combustion chamber (50, 108, 508, 608), a support matrix (126, 226, 326, 426, 526, 626) located within the channel (116, 216, 316, 416, 516, 616) comprising a plurality of segments (154, 156, 160, 162, 266, 268, 370, 372) which intersect each other when viewed from aft, and a set of vortex generators (132, 232, 332, 432, 532, 632) located on the support matrix (126, 226, 326, 426, 526, 626).
