Abstract

A transport refrigeration apparatus (10) performs a cooling operation to cool internal air. In a refrigerant circuit (30), a refrigerant having passed through a radiator (33) is distributed to a second passage (62) and a third passage (63). A low-stage compressor (31) sucks a refrigerant having passed through an evaporator (34) in the third passage (63). A high-stage compressor (32) sucks a refrigerant discharged from the low-stage compressor (31) and a refrigerant flowing in the second passage (62). A displacement volume ratio (= low-stage displacement volume/high-stage displacement volume) in the cooling operation is 0.67 or more and 3.42 or less.
