Abstract
The present invention relates to methods and devices for navigating an uncrewed marine vehicle (UMV). The UMV comprises at least two sensors of different sensing modalities for detecting objects near the UMV. The UMV navigates while detecting the nearby objects on the way. When a malfunction in one sensor is detected, the UMV utilizes the other sensor, reconstructing sensor data. This way, the UMV can continue to use the object-detection based on modality of the failing sensor. Unlocking insights from Geo-Data, the present invention further relates to improvements in sustainability and environmental developments: together we create a safe and liveable world.
