Abstract
The invention relates to a method for generating a parameter set for modelling a real-world object in a scene. The parameter set represents information about the spatial extent and location of the first object in a reference system associated with the scene. The method comprises (a) accessing point cloud based input data, the point clouds are recorded from different vantage points (b) providing an array representation of the point clouds using the scan coordinates as rows and columns, (c) identifying image patches corresponding to the object in the arrays, (d) deriving the parameter set based on the identified image patches and the known vantage points.
