Abstract
A method of detecting a dose of a medicament administered using a drug delivery device is provided. The drug delivery device comprises a dosage dial and a dialled dose indication notch, the dosage dial comprising a plurality of notches. The method comprises: dialling a dose; determining, after dialling a dose, a distance between the dosage dial and a body of the drug delivery device; detecting the relative position of the dialled dose indication notch and the notches provided on the dosage dial; determining the dialled dose based on the detected distance and the relative position of the dialled dose indication notch and the notches provided on the dosage dial.
