Abstract

An electrode (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700) includes a current collector (110, 210, 310, 410, 510, 610, 710), a first active material layer (120, 220, 320, 420, 520, 620, 720) on a first surface of the current collector (110, 210, 310, 410, 510, 610, 710), and a second active material layer (150, 250, 350, 450, 550, 650, 750) on a second surface of the current collector (110, 210, 310, 410, 510, 610, 710), the second surface being opposite the first surface, wherein at least one of the first active material layer (120, 220, 320, 420, 520, 620, 720) and the second active material layer (150, 250, 350, 450, 550, 650, 750) includes a first pattern portion (130, 230, 330, 430, 530, 630, 730) and a second pattern portion (140, 240, 340, 440, 540, 640, 740), which are alternately arranged in a longitudinal direction of the current collector (110, 210, 310, 410, 510, 610, 710), wherein the second pattern portion (140, 240, 340, 440, 540, 640, 740) includes an active material with a higher swelling rate during charging than an active material in the first pattern portion (130, 230, 330, 430, 530, 630, 730), and wherein the second pattern portion (140, 240, 340, 440, 540, 640, 740) is thinner than the first pattern portion (130, 230, 330, 430, 530, 630, 730).
