Abstract

A system and method for removing a cover (10) from a power generator enclosure (14) housing a stator and a rotor (20) is disclosed. A cover axial pull tool (42) is configured to lift a section of the cover (10) up and axially move the section of the cover from the power generator enclosure (14) to disengage from a stator frame (84) of the stator. A cover vertical lift tool (88) operates cooperatively with the power generator enclosure (14) and the cover axial pull tool (42) to provide a path for the section of the cover (10) to navigate when lifting the cover off from the cover axial pull tool with a hoist assembly (74), obviating contact between the cover and the enclosure.
