Abstract
Systems and method directed to spanning intra prediction mode information using reconstructed coding unis. One example is directed to a computer-implemented method for video encoding or decoding including deriving intra prediction mode -IPM- information from one or more reconstructed samples of a coding unit, storing the IPM information in an IPM buffer corresponding to the coding unit, and encoding or decoding a picture including the coding unit based on the IPM buffer.
