Abstract

The present document describes a key entity (160) comprising a storage area (166) for storing a digital key (161). The key entity (160) is configured to receive a setup request for setting up a communication channel with a device (110) via a communication link (135) between the device (110) and the key entity (160), wherein the setup request comprises device data that is dependent on a password for setting up the communication channel. Furthermore, the key entity (160) is configured to delay processing of the setup request in accordance to retry duration data that is stored in the storage area (166) of the key entity (160). In addition, the key entity (160) is configured to determine, based on the received device data, whether or not the password is correct, and to reset the retry duration data in dependence on whether the password is determined to be correct or not.
