Abstract
The present invention relates to an activator (51) for inflatable protective devices (1), wherein the activator comprises a case (52) in which a passage opening (B) for gas is defined and in which a perforator (53) movable between a first and a second operating position is housed. The perforator comprises a base body (54) extending between a first surface (54') and an opposing second surface (54") from which a tip (56) emerges. The ratio between a minimum passage area of the passage opening (B) and an area of the second surface (54") is greater than 0.6, optionally between 0.7 and 1, and even more optionally between 0.9 and 1.
