Abstract
A direct air capture of CO<sub>2</sub> system includes a first reaction reactor configured to sequester CO<sub>2</sub> from ambient air via a fluid sorbent including one or more amino acids; and an in-situ bipolar membrane electrolyzer, connected to the first reaction reactor, configured to both (a) regenerate the fluid sorbent via chemical removal of CO<sub>2</sub> from the fluid sorbent and (b) react the removed CO<sub>2</sub> to a non-CO<sub>2</sub> end-product.
