Abstract

A wash system (300) for washing a gas turbine engine (10) having a compressor section (22, 24), a combustion section (26), and a turbine section (28, 30) includes a detergent reservoir (365) for storing a wash fluid (372), a foam wash module (315) having a foam generating device in fluid communication with the detergent reservoir (365) and configured for generating a flow of foamed wash fluid (376), one or more additive reservoirs (370) for storing at least one additive material (380), and at least one supply line (378) in communication with the foam wash module (315) and the one or more additive reservoirs (370). The at least one additive material (380) includes a self-propelling material, an exothermic material, or both the self-propelling material and the exothermic material. The at least one supply line (378) supplies the foamed wash fluid (376) and the at least one additive material (380) to the gas turbine engine (10).
