Abstract

A screw compressor includes a compression mechanism including a screw rotor and configured to compress a refrigerant; a rotation shaft to which the screw rotor is fixed; a motor configured to rotate the rotation shaft; and a casing having a suction chamber configured to introduce the refrigerant from outside, a rotor chamber configured to house the compression mechanism, and a motor chamber configured to house the motor and positioned between the suction chamber and the rotor chamber, wherein the rotation shaft includes a first flow path that communicates with the suction chamber and that extends along a first direction that is an axial direction; and a second flow path that communicates with the motor chamber and the first flow path and that extends along a second direction intersecting the first direction.
