Abstract

Providing a refrigeration cycle apparatus capable of suppressing liquid compression. An air conditioner includes a first refrigerant circuit, a second refrigerant circuit, and a control device. The first refrigerant circuit includes a first compressor, a first heat exchanger functioning as a radiator during cooling operation, a first expansion valve, and a second heat exchanger functioning as a heat absorber during the cooling operation. The second refrigerant circuit c a portion between the first compressor and the first heat exchanger and a portion between the first heat exchanger and the first expansion valve. The second refrigerant circuit includes a second compressor and a first valve. The first valve is disposed on an upstream side of the second compressor. The control device controls the first compressor, the second compressor, the first expansion valve, and the first valve. The control device closes the first valve when the second compressor is to be stopped.
