Abstract
In a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) room, a raw fringe magnetic field compensating structure includes an active compensating coil adapted to reduce the target magnetic flux density outside a magnet apparatus of an MR in a defined area. The active compensating coils are not disposed in or on the magnet apparatus. A method of compensating a raw fringe magnetic field is also disclosed.
