Abstract
An optical stack (10A-10F) includes a front major surface (12) and a rear major surface (14) defining a peripheral edge (16). A reflective element (18A-18C) is located between the front and rear major surfaces (12, 14) and configured to modify the transmission of light. A scattering layer (20A, 20B) is located between the front major surface (12) and the reflective element (18A-18C). The scattering layer (20A, 20B) is switchable between a transmissive mode and a scattering mode. In the transmissive mode, light reflected from or transmitted through the reflective element (18A-18C) is substantially unchanged. In the scattering mode, light reflected from or transmitted through the reflective element (18A-18C) is substantially scattered.
