Abstract

An industrial vehicle (10) includes: a vehicle body (11); a detector (52, 53, 54) configured to detect an obstacle present around the vehicle body (11); and a controller (31) configured to restrict the industrial vehicle (10) from starting to move when the obstacle detected by the detector (52, 53, 54) is present in a start restriction area (A). The detector (52, 53, 54) includes: a front side detector (53, 54) configured to detect the obstacle in front of the vehicle body (11); a rear side detector (52) configured to detect the obstacle present behind the vehicle body (11); a left side detector (53) configured to detect the obstacle present on the left side of the vehicle body (11); and a right side detector (54) configured to detect the obstacle present on the right side of the vehicle body (11). The controller (31) changes the start restriction area (A) based on a traveling direction and a steering angle of the industrial vehicle (10).
