Abstract

An image analysis apparatus comprises a model generation unit that generates a three-dimensional model of a subject based on a plurality of two-dimensional images generated by imaging the subject from a plurality of different imaging positions; an image placement unit that places, among the plurality of two-dimensional images, a target two-dimensional image in a virtual space based on imaging three-dimensional coordinates and imaging posture information, the imaging three-dimensional coordinates being three-dimensional coordinates in the virtual space where the three-dimensional model is placed and indicating an imaging position when the target two-dimensional image is generated, and the imaging posture information indicating a posture of a camera that performs imaging; and a target coordinate calculation unit that calculates second target three-dimensional coordinates indicating a position where a straight line passing through the imaging three-dimensional coordinates and first target three-dimensional coordinates contacts the three-dimensional model. The first target three-dimensional coordinates indicate a position in the virtual space of a target image included in the target two-dimensional image.
