Abstract
Techniques for managing data traffic in a multipath communication system, comprising:• receiving traffic, by a classifying entity, having Low Latency, Low Loss, and Scalable Throughput, L4S, properties by:∘ monitoring Explicit Congestion Notification, ECN, signaling in the traffic stream, and/or∘ analyzing traffic patterns, service types, and/or quality of service, QoS, requirements;• classifying the detected L4S traffic and non-L4S traffic into separate queues by means of the classifying entity, in particular into a L4S-queue and a non-L4S-queue;• applying a traffic scheduling logic, by a priority scheduler entity, that prioritizes L4S traffic over non-L4S traffic according to a criteria, wherein the criteria determines which data amount of L4S traffic and/or non-L4S traffic is being passed through the priority scheduler entity;• wherein the classifying entity, and the priority scheduler entity are each associated with a multipath scheduler of a sender entity, in particular associated with a scheduler buffer of the sender entity.
