Abstract
The present disclosure relates to an image display device and an operating method thereof. An image display device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a broadcast receiving unit including a tuner for receiving a broadcast signal; a display; and a control unit communicating with the tuner, wherein the control unit may check a use mode related to the use of the tuner, on the basis of power-on of the image display device, activate a function related to a broadcast service on the basis of the use mode being set to a first mode of using the tuner, and deactivate the function related to the broadcast service on the basis of the use mode being set to a second mode of limiting the use of the tuner. Various other embodiments are possible.
