Abstract

A communication apparatus (100) according to an embodiment comprises: a receiver configured to receive configuration information related to Layer 1/Layer 2 triggered mobility (LTM), the configuration information including first information indicating a preamble index used for a random access (RA) procedure from a base station using a radio resource control (RRC) message and receive a cell switch command medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) including information for identifying the configuration information and instructing cell switching from the base station; and a controller configured to perform the RA procedure to a target cell corresponding to the information for identifying the configuration information, in a case where the cell switch command MAC CE is received. When second information indicating the preamble index is included in the cell switch command MAC CE, the controller is configured to perform the RA procedure using the preamble index determined based on the second information.
