Abstract

Proposed concepts thus aim to provide schemes, solutions, concepts, designs, methods and systems pertaining to controlling imaging modality of an oral imaging device. In particular, embodiments aim to provide a method for controlling imaging modality of an oral imaging device by basing the decision to switch imaging modality on the location and/or motion of the camera of the oral imaging device. In other words, it is proposed that by determining a location, velocity, and/or acceleration of the camera of the oral imaging device, the oral imaging device can time its switching of imaging modality more optimally.
