Abstract

An X-ray imaging system has a visible light source and associated optics for directing the visible light source output to an X-ray collimator, in order to generate a collimation light field. A 2D camera has an offset between an optical axis of the 2D camera and an optical axis of the X-ray source. The camera is for capturing reflected images formed from the visible light source output, so that a depth of an object between the X-ray source and the X-ray detector can be determined from the 2D camera images based on a parallax shift.
