Abstract

OUTDOOR TOOL AND LUBRICATION SYSTEM An outdoor tool (100) includes a housing (104), a motor assembly (110) attached to the housing (104), a tool unit (106), and a lubrication system (102). The tool unit (106) may be powered by the motor assembly (110) and includes a guide bar (116) and a chain (126) circumscribing a portion of the guide bar (116). The lubrication system (102) may provide lubricant to the chain (126). The lubrication system (102) includes a lubricant reservoir (130) attached to the housing (104) to contain a volume of the lubricant, a lubricant output (140) directed toward the guide bar (116) in fluid communication with the lubricant reservoir (130), and a reversible lubricant pump (134) disposed in fluid communication between the lubricant reservoir (130) and the lubricant output (140) to alternately motivate a first lubricant flow from the lubricant reservoir (130) and a second lubricant flow to the lubricant reservoir (130).
