Abstract

A method of production of three-dimensional components for transportation vehicles is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: creating a base material, cutting the base material into a desired shape, heating the cut base material, and forming the heated base material into the desired three-dimensional shape by compression moulding, wherein the base material is a sandwich structure comprising a core made of a synthetic foam material arranged between two outer layers, which are made from the same synthetic material, wherein the base material is made from at least 90% by weight, such as at least 95% by weight, preferably at least 98%, most preferably 100% by weight of the same polymer material.
