Abstract

Disclosed it an extruder barrel assembly defining an extrusion bore. The extruder barrel assembly comprises a rotatable barrel segment defining a portion of the extrusion bore between an inlet for receiving extrudate at a first end of the rotatable barrel segment and an outlet for expelling extrudate at a second end of the rotatable barrel segment opposite the first end, and at least one other barrel segment, each at least one other barrel segment defining a respective portion of the extrusion bore. The rotatable barrel segment is rotatable relative to the at least one other barrel segment, about a longitudinal axis of the portion of the extrusion bore between the first and second ends.
