Abstract

A liquid treatment cartridge comprises a housing. The housing comprises an axial end wall (17) at one axial end, with respect to a cartridge axis (13). The housing comprises at least one liquid inlet (22) in an exterior surface (20) of the housing at the one axial end. The housing encloses a chamber (16). The housing comprises at least one axial section pervious to liquid flowing out of the chamber (16) at a position axially removed from the one axial end of the housing. The housing comprises at least one hollow structure (18) of which at least a part protrudes into the chamber (16) with respect to the axial end wall (17). The protruding part of the hollow structure (18) provides at least one liquid outlet allowing liquid to pass from an interior (24) of the hollow structure (18) into the chamber (16). The interior (24) of the hollow structure (18) is continued by a passage (23) through the axial end wall (17), which passage (23) terminates at at least one of the at least one liquid inlets (22). The housing comprises at least one venting passage (25a-d) extending from a gas inlet (26a-d) to a gas outlet (27a-d) and through the axial end wall (17) for venting gas from the chamber (16). The gas outlet (27a-d) is a gas outlet (27a-d) formed in the exterior surface (20). The gas inlet (26a-d) is a gas inlet (26a-d) separate from the protruding part of the hollow structure (18).
