Abstract

The invention relates a laundry treating appliance (1) comprising a rotatable container (4) apt to receive laundry to be treated, the container (4) being rotatable about a rotation axis (X) and comprising a side wall (6) that extends around the rotation axis (X) and comprises an inner surface (7) which delimits a laundry receiving space (9). There is provided at least one lifter (20; 120; 220; 320; 420; 520) having a base portion (22) resting on said inner surface (7), said lifter (20; 120; 220; 320; 420; 520) extending from said inner surface (7) of said side wall (6) towards said rotation axis (X). The lifter (20; 120; 220; 320; 420; 520) is provided with an article holder clamp device (30; 130; 230; 330; 430; 530) having a clamp region (32; 132; 232; 332; 432) comprising a first gripping surface (34) and a second gripping surface (36) to hold an article (A) therebetween. The clamp device (30; 130; 230; 330; 430; 530) comprising at least one movable part (40; 140; 240; 340; 440, 480) comprising the first gripping surface (34), wherein each of said at least one movable part (40; 140; 240; 340; 440, 480) is movable relative to the rotatable container (4) between a closed clamp position to hold the article (A) and an open clamp position to release the article (A). The clamp device (30; 130; 230; 330; 430; 530) comprises an actuating device (50; 150; 250; 350; 450) that is operable to move said at least one movable part (40; 140; 240; 340; 440, 480) between the closed clamp position and the open clamp position. The at least one movable part (40; 140; 240; 340; 440, 480) is configured to slidingly move along a sliding axis (S; S'; S"; S‴) between the closed clamp position and the open clamp position.
