Abstract
Artificial turf systems including biodegradable filler particles are disclosed. Filler particles can include a coating that facilitates biodegradability. The coating can include one or more polymer compounds, such as polyhydroxyalkanoates. The coating can further include an antimicrobial agent and a colorant.
