Abstract

Herein is disclosed a window frame (34, 35), such as for a roof window (42), comprising at least a top bar (19) and two side bars (17), wherein the top bar (19) is manufactured by extrusion of a profile (4) of one or more thermoplastic materials and the two side bars (17) are manufactured by extrusion of a profile (4) of one or more thermoplastic materials, wherein one or more reinforcement inserts (3) have been embedded in the thermoplastic material during the extrusion process, wherein a cross-section of the extruded profile (4)s of the two side bars (17) comprise one or more discretely arranged extruded elongated reinforcement structures (25), which each comprises a reinforcement enclosure (23) connected to an interior side (33) of an external wall (26) of the side bar (17), the external wall (26) having an interior side (33) and an exterior side (28), wherein the reinforcement enclosures (23) of the side bars (17) each partly or fully encloses a reinforcement insert (3), wherein a corner joint (21, 22) is provided between each end of the top bar (19) and one of the top ends of the two side bars (17) to form a U-shaped frame part.
