Abstract

The present invention relates to an oven (1) comprising a cooking tray (2) having a first surface (4) and a second surface (5), a base (3) having an inner gap (6) between the first surface (4) and the second surface (5), wherein the inner gap (6) serves as a reservoir for water and as a chamber for steam generation, side walls (10) which rise from both lateral parts of the base (3) so as to be adjacent to the base (3) and which have openings (9) arranged at intervals for delivering the generated steam to the cooking chamber (11), and a water inlet path (11) for adding water into the inner gap (6).
