Abstract

A suction heat exchanger (1, 1') is disclosed. The heat exchanger (1. 1') comprises an outer pipe (3) and at least one inner pipe (5, 5') arranged inside and along the outer pipe (3). The outer pipe (3) is connectable to an evaporator and to a compressor (9) configured to achieve a flow of a medium through the outer pipe (3). The at least one inner pipe (5, 5') is configured for the medium to flow through the at least one inner pipe (5) in an opposite direction to the direction of the flow of the medium when flowing through the outer pipe (3). The outer pipe (3) and the at least one inner pipe (5, 5') are helically-formed around an axis (a) to form helical paths for the medium to flow through the outer pipe (3) and through the at least one inner pipe (5, 5'). A method (100) for manufacturing a suction heat exchanger (1, 1') is also disclosed.
