Abstract

An aspect of the invention relates to a computer-implemented method for managing the ownership of an asset. The method comprises providing a smart registry contract (10) on a distributed ledger (110, 210, 310) and minting, by the smart registry contract (10), a non-fungible token (11) as ownership token for the asset and an associated token-bound account (12) on the distributed ledger (110, 210, 310). The method further comprises providing a permissioned storage system (20) and an application layer (30). Further steps include receiving, by the application layer, the metadata of the asset including a document (21) associated to the asset, storing the document (21) in the permissioned storage system (20) and recording a link (22) to the document (21) in the associated token-bound account (12).Further aspects relate to a digital asset management system and a corresponding computer program product.
