Abstract
The invention relates to a computer-implemented method and apparatus for analyzing an operational lifetime of a mechanical component comprising the steps of selecting (S31) a first binning for a first point cloud of a plurality of point clouds; for each bin of the first binning of the first point cloud, calculating (S32) an average temperature to form a first temperature profile; applying (S33) the first binning to a second point cloud of the plurality of point clouds; for each bin of the first binning of the second point cloud, calculating (S34) an average temperature to form a second temperature profile; determining (S35) a standard deviation and an average temperature for the first temperature profile and the second temperature profile to measure a temperature variation for the first binning; approximate (S36) the log-likelihood of the plurality of point clouds; for each bin, calculating (S37) an average and a standard deviation to form normal distributions; creating (S38) a gaussian mixture distribution and the average log-likelihood of the plurality of point clouds to measure a loss of information; and evaluating (S39) the first binning based on the measured temperature variation and the measured loss of information.
