Abstract
Provided are a method and apparatus for predicting a current of a load (550) in an autotransformer (540). A processor is configured to obtain a value of a current of a first input terminal (520) and a value of a current of a first stage of an autotransformer (530), predict whether a plurality of loads are unbalanced, based on the value of the current of the first input terminal (520), the value of the current of the first stage (530), and a characteristic of the autotransformer (540), and determine whether to open a relay (510), based on a result of the prediction and a current flowing through the autotransformer (540), wherein a turn ratio of the autotransformer (540) is 1.
