Abstract
A lithium secondary battery according to exemplary embodiments includes: a battery case; and an electrode assembly accommodated inside the battery case, wherein the electrode assembly includes a unit cell stack in which n (n is an integer of 2 or more) unit cells including a positive electrode and a negative electrode are arranged in a thickness direction, the unit cell stack includes a first unit cell and a second unit cell, the first unit cell includes a first positive electrode, and a positive electrode active material of the first positive electrode is composed of a first positive electrode active material represented by the following Chemical Formula 1. [Chemical Formula 1] Li<sub>p</sub>Fe<sub>(1-q)</sub>M<sup>1</sup><sub>q</sub>O<sub>4</sub>In Chemical Formula 1, M<sup>1</sup> is any one of W, Cu, V, Cr, Ti, Zr, Zn, Al, In, Ta, Y, La, Sr, Ga, Sc, Gd, Sm, Ca, Ce, Nb, Mg, B, and Mo, andp and q are 5≤p≤7 and 0≤q≤0.5, respectively.
